Lang Research Lab

The research conducted in the Lang Laboratory at Cincinnati Children's Research Foundation centers around eye development. The eye is a favorite organ system for developmental biologists because of its accessibility and well-defined structure.

The lab is led by Richard Lang, a professor of ophthalmology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. We are investigating several aspects of mammalian eye development:

  • Our work on lens induction and morphogenesis is described in this chapter of Encyclopedia of the Eye.
  • Our work on vascular regression and angiogenesis at the cellular and molecular levels is described in this chapter of Encyclopedia of the Eye.
