Research The Brunson Center for Translational Vision Research serves as an international leader in advancing research and bolstering the support of investigators pursuing basic and translational sciences relevant to vision. Home Research BCTVR Lab Meetings Our faculty supports BCTVR students, post docs and scientists by hosting weekly open forum discussions on the progress of the ongoing scientific research, highlighting different BCTVR labs. During these dynamic meetings faculty and lab personnel engage through feedback, encourage the process and ultimately create the culture of discovery and innovation. View our Upcoming topics and schedule Labs We believe that the most efficient way to achieve successful treatments for blinding diseases is to assemble highly specialized laboratories committed to the multifaceted coordinated approach, enabling them to identify new targets and develop novel, including genetic intervention, methods for therapeutic intervention. Learn more about BCTVR Labs Cores for Vision Research The Cores for Vision Research provide research support for NEI R01-funded investigators and serve as a catalyst for the major expansion of vision research currently underway at UCI. We have established three research cores plus an administrative core that will advance the research programs of individual investigators by providing state-of-the-art core facilities together with outstanding technical support from the module managers. The research cores are: Ocular microanatomy Visual function and non-invasive ocular imaging Ocular mass spectrometry, lipidomics, and proteomics Bioinformatics Learn More about the Cores Funding Opportunities The Brunson Center for Translational Vision Research is working with the UCI School of Medicine Office of Research to help our students and faculty with applications for various types of funding opportunities. The school's Office of Research provides campus access to resources and is ready to assist our students and faculty in identifying and applying for such opportunities. Details on Funding Opportunities Publications The investigators in BCTVR conduct high-power, well-funded, basic and translational research that results in publications in the most elite scientific journals.
