CTVR Receives Research to Prevent Blindness Award Posted: 2025-01-14 Source: Center for Translational Vision Research News Type: Features & Briefs share Congratulations to Krzysztof Palczewski, PhD, at the University of California, Irvine, School of Medicine has been granted a Research to Prevent Blindness (RPB) / International Retinal Research Foundation (IRRF) Catalyst Award for Innovative Research Approaches for AMD. The Award is designed to support novel, ground-breaking research into age-related macular degeneration (AMD), with the ultimate goal of creating effective treatments for this increasingly common and debilitating condition. Since it was founded in 1960, RPB has channeled more than $424 million into eye research. As a result, RPB has been identified with nearly every major breakthrough in vision research in that time.
