The Center for Translational Vision Research Distinguished Speaker Series, also known as "Friday Seminars" showcases innovative research across the world. We are interested in events surrounding formation of tumor initiating cells (TIC) and in regulating T-cell influx into tumors.  Lineage tracing in mouse models is being used to follow steps in transition of progenitor and differentiated cell populations to cancer cells.  We are particularly interested in the role of epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition in driving asymmetric cell division in this process.
